Hello Cougar family -
Lots of things going on this past week. A lot of makeup sporting events - volleyball girls beat Sonoma Academy, and hope to get into the playoffs. Boys soccer had a good game against Potter Valley and also hope to get into the playoffs. Tonight football plays against South Fork at home, 6pm, varsity only and girls and boys soccer are away. Much thanks to Athletic Director Brian Figg for all the hard work getting those games rescheduled.
Cash for College night was Wednesday, and it looked like we had a good number of seniors and their parents filling out their Federal Finanacial Aid forms. Thank you to Ms. Carter for getting that organized. Last night Ms. Carter and Mr. Coatney went to the American Legion in Kelseyville, where students Nicholas Warner and Anisha Kalan were recognized for their earning spots at, attending, and completing Boys' and Girls' State.
Tonight, ULHS hosts the Elementary PTO "Fall Festival" in the cafeteria from 5-8pm. Should be lots of fun, games and candy (for the kids).
Lastly, it seems like we've had an increase in the "he said/she said" drama. If you find the time, please speak to your student and remind them that school is for learning and learning is much better in a 'drama-free' environment. We will be reminding everyone at school that "if you don't like someone, leave them be", and that "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all", but would appreciate the reinforcement at home.
Have a great weekend and a safe/fun Halloween - speaking of which, there will be a "Trunk or Treat"/"Fun House" fundraiser at the high school from 5-9pm. There is a small fee (fundraiser) for a good cause, and it is a safe environment for the little ones.
